What is Hifu for the face?
Also called High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, HIFU is a revolutionary aesthetic method. It is based on powerful ultrasounds, which allow targeting tissues and triggering tissue regeneration.
In the case of the face, HIFU allows a non-surgical lifting, enabling skin rejuvenation by working on skin sagging as well as wrinkles and fine lines due to aging.

What can we expect during a HIFU facial session?
If you want to know more about the course of a HIFU facial session before your treatment, here is its explanation, in three main steps:
Before the HIFU facial session
Before the treatment, opaque glasses will be provided, in order to protect your eyes and avoid any risk related to ultrasounds. Then, a conductive gel will be applied to the area to be treated, in order to facilitate the optimal penetration of focused ultrasounds into the skin tissue.
During the HIFU facial session
Once the preparations are completed, the HIFU machine will be placed on the treatment area, with a specific head on the handpiece, according to the depth to reach under the skin.
The facial session lasts on average 45 minutes, but this depends on the area to be treated. During this period, you might feel a sensation of warmth or slight pinching, but this is normal and will not be intolerable.
After the HIFU facial session
No recovery time is necessary with this technique. You will therefore be able to resume your daily life and schedule a new follow-up appointment 3 months after the HIFU treatment.
What is the price for a session?
The rates for high-intensity ultrasound sessions in our institute depend on the area to be treated:
Forehead or double chin: 150 euros per session
Forehead and crow's feet: 250 euros per session
Décolletage: 300 euros per session
Facial contours: 350 euros per session
Full face: 600 euros per session
In the case of a HIFU session for the entire body, however, the rate is quoted individually at our institute.
What results to expect after HIFU treatment?
The results after a treatment performed with HIFU Storm technology are progressive. Indeed, although a slight improvement is visible immediately after the session, you will have to wait several weeks to see the final results.
As for what you can expect as results:
A natural appearance: One of the biggest advantages is that the appearance of results is natural, thus avoiding the "transformed" effect, as one might have with injections or surgical lifting
A lasting transformation: thanks to the collagen produced, skin tissues are restructured and effects are improved for several months.
A visible lifting effect: 2 to 3 weeks after the session, the skin of the treated area on the surface becomes tighter, offering a lifting effect.
What about contraindications and side effects?
Of course, like any procedure, there are contraindications for HIFU:
Medical devices (pacemaker or dental or mechanical implants).
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Skin conditions (hernias, psoriasis, eczema).
Recent surgical intervention or open wound.
Bleeding disorders or coagulation issues.
Inflammation or infection.
Regarding side effects, it is possible to face skin irritation or slight swelling of the treated area, as well as temporary numbness.

The HIFU treatment process is not painful per se. Nevertheless, it can create temporary discomfort in the form of a sensation of warmth and slight pinching during the session.
Generally, it is recommended to wait 12 to 18 months between sessions, depending on skin evolution and desired results. Nevertheless, this depends on your needs and the results you wish to obtain. It is advisable to consult an aesthetic medicine expert to discuss this.
The entire face can be treated by HIFU. However, it is particularly effective for facial contours, neck, forehead as well as drooping eyelids and décolletage.
For mild to moderate skin sagging, HIFU proves as effective as surgical lifting, without the disadvantages following surgery or the scar that follows the intervention.
Nevertheless, for significant skin sagging, HIFU cannot provide results as advanced as surgical lifting, as it cannot reach the necessary layers.
